چکیده
Background: While preoperative antibiotic therapy is standard to prevent surgical site infections in acute calculous cholecystitis, prescribing antibiotics after discharge controversial. This study aimed investigate the effect of administration prescription on infections.
Methods: Data from patients who underwent emergency laparoscopic cholecystectomy for cholecystitis between January 2018 and February 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. Those with a decompensated systemic disease, those converted open cholecystectomy, stage 3 cholecystostomy excluded. Ampicillin-sulbactam 1 g was administered parenterally three times day before surgery.
The divided into two groups according their prescriptions: given (AB group) not (NA group). primary outcome development Results: 107 AB group 109 NA group. In logistic regression analysis, obesity risk factor Conclusions: Failure prescribe ampicillin-sulbactam discharged surgery does increase infections. However, obese may reduce Keywords: infections,

Protocol for extended antibiotic therapy after laparoscopic cholecystectomy for acute calculous cholecystitis (Cholecystectomy Antibiotic Randomised Trial, CHART)
INTRODUCTION Acute calculous cholecystitis represents one of the most common complications of cholelithiasis. While laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the standard treatment in mild and moderate forms, the need for antibiotic therapy after surgery remains undefined. The aim of the randomised controlled Cholecystectomy Antibiotic Randomised Trial (CHART) is therefore to assess if there are benefits...

BACKGROUND The purpose of the study was to identify risk factors for conversion of laparoscopic cholecystectomy and risk factors for postoperative complications in acute calculous cholecystitis. The most common complications arising from cholecystectomy were also to be identified. METHODS A total of 499 consecutive patients, who had undergone emergent cholecystectomy with diagnosis of cholecy...

OBJECTIVE To determine whether laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) should be the procedure of choice in treating acute cholecystitis. METHOD A prospective study was conducted over a 4 1/2-year period. There were 187 patients with acute cholecystitis out of 1020 patients with gallbladder disease who required cholecystectomy. These patients were divided into three groups based on the time interva...

متن کاملEarly Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy for Acute Cholecystitis
Objective:Acute cholecystitis (AC) is todaymore andmore treated through laparoscopywith good outcomes, the conversion rate and themorbidity being a little higher than the elective treatment of gallbladder stones though. Themajority of studies show an advantage in favor of early laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) (under 72hours). The aimof this studywas to evaluate the results of LC for ACwhen la...
